Bengaluru: JD (S) leader H. D. Kumaraswamy said on Tuesday July 26 that his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy who is the head of the JD (S) youth wing will not run in the upcoming Assembly elections.

According to the former Chief Minister, Nikhil will campaign for his party’s victory.

“Who said Nikhil will contest? To organise the party, he has decided to focus on around 30 to 40 constituencies. Nikhil won’t run for Assembly,” said Kumaraswamy.

There have been rumours circulating in the party circles that Kumaraswamy may shift to Ramanagara and vacate his Channapatna seat to make room for Nikhil, while his wife Anita Kumaraswamy, who presently represents Ramanagara, may not run for polls.
