Bengaluru: School Education and Literacy Minister B. C. Nagesh on Sunday October 9 said that examinations for students in classes 5 and 8 would be more like evaluations.

Speaking to mediapersons he said, “The Department is considering conducting evaluations to students in Class 5 and Class 8 but that the exam will not be conducted using the SSLC board’s model.” He said that the issue will be discussed on October 13 during the next departmental review meeting.

“We are not thinking of conducting any exam. We are thinking about a different approach to evaluate instead. A clear image will be given after the meeting in a few days,” he added.

The department intends to introduce a technique of evaluation as part of the 5+3+3+4 system of education so that they can evaluate how well students are doing in their studies.
