Bengaluru: Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on Tuesday September 20 informed the Assembly that there are 9,432 vacant police constable posts and that efforts are being made to fill them. In response to Preetham Gowda, a BJP lawmaker from Hassan, Araga claimed that the number was lower than that of the previous 20-year governments.
Over 22,000 police jobs were open when our government came into power, but only 9,432 remain as of right now, said Jnanendra.
He said that the present government had already released a notification to fill 3,500 posts and that another notification to fill 1,500 civil police positions will be issued the next week.
