Bengaluru: The State Government on Thursday September 29 offered the widow of BJP activist Praveen Nettaru a position in the CMO. He was recently killed in the State’s Dakshina Kannada District.
According to the Karnataka Civil Service (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977, Nutana Kumari M. is appointed to the “Group C” post in the CMO on a contract basis beginning September 22.
According to the contract terms and regulations, the appointment is coterminous with the Chief Minister or until future instructions, whichever comes first. It is subject to verification of educational qualifications and records.
In a tweet about the appointment, the Karnataka BJP stated, “BJP is committed to protect its workers.”
On the night of July 26, Nettaru, a 32-year-old member of the Zilla Bharatiya Yuva Morcha committee, was hacked to death by unknown motorbike attackers, sparking outrage and communal tension.
Some BJP Yuva Morcha members and workers across the State resigned as a result of the murder. They accused the State Government of not standing up to protect the lives of Hindu ‘Karyakartas’.
