Bengaluru: The BMRCL suspended the Deputy Chief Engineer, Executive Engineer, and Site Engineer on Wednesday January 11 following the deaths of two persons caused by the collapse of a metro pillar built near Hennur.
According to the BMRCL’s announcement, an internal technical team has been formed to look into the accident’s cause and produce a report as soon as possible. It has also asked for the incident to be independently investigated and reported by the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
The Nagarjuna Construction Company, which won the contract for constructing the metro on the KR Puram-Hebbal route, has been booked, and an investigation into its alleged role in negligence is underway.
