Bengaluru: The South Western Railway (SWR) has doubled the platform ticket price from Rs. 10 to Rs. 20 at eight rail stations in State.
Among eight, five stations are in Bengaluru. The fare hike is temporary to facilitate free movement passengers on platforms and thus prevent overcrowding during Dasara season.
The stations are Yeshwantpur, KSR Bengaluru, Bengaluru Cantonment, Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT), KR Puram, SSS Hubballi, Belagavi and Mysuru, the authorities added in a release.
