Bengaluru: The stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui’s show, “Dongri to nowhere,” which was scheduled to take place on Saturday August 20 has been denied permission again by the Bengaluru police.

The event was cancelled since the organisers did not have permission to hold it in the City, informed the police.

A fringe group Jai Shri Ram Sena had complained to Bengaluru Police Commissioner C. H. Pratap Reddy about the comedian and the event’s organisers.

The outfit said in its complaint that Faruqui disrespected Lord Ram and the goddess Sita in his shows, hurting Hindu feelings.

The same reason was used to deny the comedian permission to perform here in November 2021.
