Bengaluru: A PWD official ended his life in the Shivagange Inspection Bungalow within the limits of the Dabaspet Police Station on Friday January 27. The incident came to light around 9.30 am. The victim was working at Madhugiri in Tumakuru. According to sources, the victim was upset because he lost the Service Registers (SR) of some PWD officials who were in his custody.

The victim has been identified by the police as D. Lakshmi Narasimaiah (56), a First-Division Assistant who had been working as the Manager in the Madhugiri PWD for the last eight years. He was residing in Madhugiri Town’s PWD quarters at Sira Gate with his family.

According to sources, he lost the SRs while taking them by auto to the PWD head office in the City three days ago. It’s unclear whether they were stolen or if the victim left them in an auto in Tumakuru. The victim is suspected to have resorted to suicide out of fear of consequences.

Police informed that the victim was upset. He had spoken about this with his family. On Friday, his phone was on till 1.30 am. Later, he must have ended his life. There is no foul play. There isn’t a death note, they added.
