Bengaluru: BJP will organise a big rally in Doddaballapura, around 40 kilometres outside of Bengaluru, on July 28 to celebrate the first anniversary of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s Government. Bommai said that the government will hold a separate programme on that day and that the decision to organise the rally was made at the party leaders’ meeting on Friday July 15 in the City.

The gathering to celebrate the major schemes and achievements of the Bommai Government will draw up to one lakh people, including those who have benefited from various government programmes.

According to sources, many central leaders are also expected to attend the programme to show their strong support for the Bommai Government, which has come under fire from the opposition Congress on a number of issues. “The party chose Doddaballapura as the location since holding the event in Bengaluru would have result in traffic congestion,” said BJP General Secretary and MLC N. Ravi Kumar.

To spread awareness of the government’s programmes, the party also plans to host two rallies each month in different parts of the state. Bommai will visit 50 Assembly segments to attend meetings of those who have benefited from government schemes. To strengthen the party, BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel will visit every district, informed BJP General Secretary Mahesh Tenginkai.
