Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President (KPCC) D. K. Shivakumar urged the members of the Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, and National Student Union of India (NSUI) reach out to the public to know what they want from the party and what should be included in its election manifesto.

Speaking to members of the Youth Congress in Bengaluru, Shivakumar said that a survey to know more about youth can be done by going door-to-door or online using an application. He urged the leaders of the Youth Congress to put aside their differences and work together for the party.

He claimed that youth made up 61 per cent of those who joined the party during its membership enrollment drive, can be used to help collect information. He appreciated the leadership of the youth Congress’s suggestions on creating job policies.

In the upcoming month, he plans to travel to 80 to 100 Assembly constituencies to spread awareness about the party’s Freedom March on August 15. Other leaders, including Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah, were urged to tour the districts to raise awareness of the march. To celebrate the 75th Independence Day celebration, the party has decided to hold a 75 km padayatra in each district. There will be about a lakh people in Bengaluru. He said that they have asked for permission to organise the event in Bengaluru’s Basavangudi Grounds.

He said that politicians are putting pressure on the investigators of the PSI recruitment scam. He said that a judicial probe should be sought and that the statements of those arrested in the case should be recorded in court.
