Bengaluru Rural: A meeting on land acquisition pricing between land acquisition farmers and KIADB officials has failed at Kundana in Devanahalli Taluk.
A total of 867 acres of land has been acquired by KIADB in Aravanahalli, Doddagollahalli, Chapparadahalli and Byradenahalli Villages in the Taluk. Finally there was a process of deciding the rate under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner.
The meeting was called after issuing notices to the farmers and owners of the lands in the area. However, the farmers vented their anger by boycotting the meeting protesting against the land acquisition process.
Speaking on the occasion, the farmers said that a collective decision has been taken by the people of each village that the land of the five villages in Kundana Hobli limits will not be given to KIADB for any reason.
Earlier also, protests were held in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office demanding that the land acquisition process be stopped. Even if we lose our lives, we will not give land. If this continues, we will protest strongly,” they said.
Deputy Commissioner R. Latha was also present at the meeting. However, as the farmers did not go in and stayed outside. The Deputy Commissioner waited for sometime and returned to the office. Thus the process of fixing the price for the land failed in the first meeting.
