Bengaluru Rural: With the Government starting the registration process for ragi procurement andbas only one registration centre has been opened for the entire Taluk, farmers have been forced to stand in queues for days on end.
Thousands of farmers who have grown ragi in the Taluk have to register their names to sell their crop. For this, the District Administration has opened only one registration centre near Kempalinganahalli in the Taluk. For this, the farmers come to the centre at 5.00 am and stand in a queue. From 8.00 am. to 9.00 am there will be a row of farmers standing in queue for about half a kilometre distance.
In addition, if there is a server and other issues, for days on end, farmers will have to stand in the sun near the registration centre without food, snacks, water and other facilities.
