Bengaluru: The Supreme Court on Monday October 10 allowed Former Minister Gali Janardhana Reddy, who is charged in the multi-crore illegal mining case, to visit the District to meet his daughter and stay there till November 6.
A bench of Justices M. R. Shah and Krishna Murari also directed the trial court to conduct the trial daily and to complete the process in six months, beginning November 9. It asked the prosecution to first examine witnesses from the Andhra Pradesh cities of Ballari, Anantapur, and Kadapa.
The bench said that any attempt by Reddy to delay the trial would be dealt with an iron hand and ordered him to stay away from Ballari until it was over. “All the accused are directed to cooperate with the Special Court at the end of the trial at the earliest and within the period stipulated and any attempt on the part of the accused to postpone the trial shall be looked very seriously,” stated the court.
