Bengaluru: Congress leader from Davanagere S. S. Mallikarjun declined to pay Rs. 2 lakh deposit with the application for the party ticket.
Son of party veteran Shyamanur Shivashankarappa, Mallikarjun is a Former Minister.
“I am very honest. Why honest should pay for the tickets,” he questioned.
“I applied for the ticket. But I will not deposit money,” he said.
He is the first leader to oppose the Rs.2 lakh deposit proposal mooted by the KPCC. According to KPCC sources, the party collected Rs. 18 Crore from ticket aspirants till now.
