Bengaluru: Three persons belonging to Hyderabad have been arrested on Friday December 2 by the Bengaluru unit of the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) for allegedly engaging in the smuggling and selling of hydro ganja (cannabis grown on the surface of water bodies).
According to officials, the suspects would buy drugs in West Bengal and distribute them to customers through dark web. According to police, they traded in cryptocurrencies.
The NCB sleuths have made 27 arrests and filed nine separate cases during the last two months. Along with the Hyderabad accused, other suspects included a supplier, some financiers, and distributors.
The police claimed that during the last two months, they had seized ganja worth Rs. 15 lakh as well as other drugs like MDMA, cocaine, hashish, LSD, and psilocybin mushrooms.
Police have tracked down a supplier who distributes the contraband through local agents based in Siliguri, West Bengal.
