Karnataka’s capital city is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The city is also expected to witness cloudy skies throughout the day, keeping temperatures mild and pleasant.

The minimum temperature is expected to hover around 21°C, while the maximum temperature may reach 28°C. The city saw sunrise at 6:17 am, and sunset is expected around 6:50 pm, the Met department said.

Rainfall alert issued for several Karnataka districts

The IMD has issued warnings for light to heavy rain across multiple districts in Karnataka over the next few days. The affected regions include Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Ballari, Raichur, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, and Yadgiri.

Coastal regions such as Birugali and Gudugu may also experience heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds. The weather department has urged residents in these areas to remain alert and take necessary precautions.

Air quality and humidity levels in Bengaluru

The city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) remains poor at 121, indicating discomfort for sensitive groups, especially those with respiratory or cardiac conditions. The humidity level in Bengaluru is likely to stay around 68 per cent, which, coupled with rain, could temporarily lower particulate matter levels in the air.

Experts, however, advise continued caution. Residents are recommended to wear masks in areas with heavy traffic, limit outdoor activities during peak hours, and monitor air quality updates regularly.

What residents should do during rainfall

Authorities have advised residents in affected areas to follow basic safety measures:

  • Avoid going near coastal or low-lying areas during heavy rain.
  • Stay indoors when winds pick up or rainfall intensifies.
  • Secure loose outdoor items such as furniture or sheets.
  • Ensure windows and doors are firmly closed.
  • Keep phones charged, and store flashlights, water, and food supplies to prepare for possible power cuts.

Overall outlook

Meteorologists predict that rain and overcast skies will persist through the week in Bengaluru, maintaining pleasant daytime conditions. However, occasional spells of heavy rain could disrupt traffic and increase localised waterlogging.

Residents are advised to keep track of IMD updates and plan travel accordingly.
