Bengaluru: A pillion rider was killed on the spot after a lorry toppled on the Nagarabhavi flyover and the wooden logs it was carrying fell on the two-wheeler.
The deceased has been identified as N. Mukesh. Two other persons, including Mukesh’s brother-in-law, sustained injuries and have been admitted to a hospital.
According to sources, the accident happened when Mukesh was going home from his native area at 5.00 am. David, the brother of his wife, had arrived in a TVS Scooty to pick him up at the Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Station.
A lorry carrying wood logs was travelling at a high speed toward Nayandahalli when its driver lost control of the vehicle as they neared the flyover. The truck overturned, spilling its load of wood logs onto the road. According to the police, a few of the logs crashed onto the scooty, killing Mukesh on spot and injuring David and another man named Shivu (26).
