Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) plans to introduce a mobile app in 45 days for resolving recurring issues like power outages, power supply, according to Rajendra Cholan, Managing Director, Bescom.

Interacting with members of Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA), Rajendra Cholan said the mobile app would have a dashboard, which can be accessed for details such as power consumed, amount billed, etc, and enable online redressal of grievances without any hassles.

The Bescom MD also agreed to a suggestion from KASSIA to hold Adalats once in two months to ensure grievances addressed. “This will be further supplemented with the opening of a Helpdesk at 10 industrial areas for direct hearing of specific grievances of entrepreneurs,’’ he said.

He expressed the hope that all these industry-friendly initiatives would help to mitigate the problem of load shedding in industrial areas, which was one of the main concerns expressed at the interaction meet.

Earlier, A Padmanabha, president, KASSIA, appealed the Bescom MD to look into the issues of insistence of sub-trade license for power sanction or at the time of shifting the premises, harassment by vigilance squad, strengthening of power distribution systems at Peenya, Kengeri, North and East division. He also appealed the Bescom MD to take measures for installing 220 KV stations at Nelamangala and Vasanthapura.
