Bengaluru: To facilitate the smooth transfer of government employees from one State to another, Karnataka has begun issuing BH (‘Bharat’) series registration numbers to a select group of vehicle owners.
According to J. Purushotham, Additional Commissioner for transport (E&EG), the department started issuing BH series applications two days ago.
According to the rules, those seeking BH series should be central government or PSU employees, or employees of firms and organisations with more than four states’ establishments.
Vehicles moving to Karnataka from other states must notify the authorities within 15 days of their arrival and register with the local RTO within the next 12 months. Apart from the payment of fees, the process entails a number of steps.
