Bengaluru: “The people of Bihar reposed faith in the leadership of Nitish Kumar and opposed the BJP’s Hindutva ideology. The BJP tried to capture Bihar by dividing people on communal lines but it did not work. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strategy lost its sheen in the Bihar polls,” said Chief minister Siddaramaiah here on Sunday.
The secular and socialist forces have recorded an emphatic victory in the Bihar elections by decimating the communal forces led by the BJP, CM added.
In this crucial election the people of Bihar have rejected the communal agenda of the BJP and RSS and the poll verdict would change the political discourse in the coming days.
Meanwhile, BJP’s State unit president, Pralhad Joshi, welcomed the verdict and said the defeat was only a temporary setback to the party.
JD(S) State president H.D. Kumaraswamy said that the “victory of the grand alliance in Bihar points at the emergence of regional parties in national politics”.
