Birthday party turns tragic as two die in accident; three injured

Bengaluru: A birthday party turned tragic after two youth died in a road mishap while three others sustained critical injuries.

The accident occurred near Chandapura in the outskirts of Bengaluru at around 5 am on Friday, November 20.

The deceased are identified as Dhruva and Ashwin, aged around 20 years. Their friends Anjum Ahmed, Prithvi and Krishna have been hospitalized. While Anjum is said to be battling for life, the other two are reportedly out of danger. All five are 2nd year
BBM students of Alliance College near Anekal.

According to police sources, Dhruva, Ashwin, Anjum and Prithvi residing in VBHC Apartments, Anekal had visited Krishna’s house to celebrate the latter’s birthday. After the celebrations, Krishna offered to drop them home. It is said that they had consumed liquor. Also, Krishna was driving at high speed. When they reached near Chandrapura, Krishna lost control over the vehicle and rammed into an eucalyptus tree. The impact of the collision was such that Dhruva and Ashwin died on the spot, it is said.

About 20 minutes later, a few passers-by happened to see the vehicle and rushed the youth to hospital. The bodies have been shifted to Victoria Hospital for autopsy.
