Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Working President Satish Jarkiholi has alleged that the BJP is deliberately delaying the Zilla Panchayat elections by forming a committee instead.
Speaking to mediapersons on Sunday February 13, Satish alleged that the BJP is not interested in holding Zilla Panchayat/Taluk Panchayat elections. Though there was an opportunity to conduct the polls, they (the BJP) appointed an unnecessary committee.
When asked about the hijab and saffron shawl controversy, Satish said that the issue is currently in court and that a judgement will be made shortly. Protests took held in some parts of the state, but not in all parts of the State. However, he noted that the State is currently at peace.
Satish said that there is a wave of support for Congress in Goa, with the party winning 17 seats in the last elections.
