Bengaluru: On Thursday December 9, Congress Leader Siddaramaiah said that the anti-conversion law is being brought to mislead voters and oppress Muslims and Christians.

“It is the constitutional right to choose one’s religion. The government has the power to take action against someone who is forcibly converting others. However, there is no reason to ban all religious conversions,” he added.

“There are also allegations of a split between myself and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee D. K. Shivakumar. They are all false, and the BJP is spreading them to tarnish the party’s reputation. He went on to say, “I would like to ask proof for the allegations,” he added.

He went on to say that BJP is corrupt itself, and Chief Minister is throwing fingers at others. “Let an investigation take place to see whether there was any corruption during my term,” he said.
