Bengaluru: Few days after BJP MP Pratap Simha and Union skill development minister Ananth Kumar Hegde courted controversy by using unparliamentary words, another BJP leader and Hukkeri MLA Umesh Katti was found using foul language, however this time round it was against fellow party leaders.

In a video that is being widely circulated on the social media Umesh Katti is heard terming as ‘haramkhor’, those BJP leaders who stopped him from joining the ongoing Lingayat separate religion agitation.

“Naanu Lingayata Veerashaiva Horatakke Hogoke Bidada BJP Nayakaru Haramkhore Makkalu,” stated Katti implying those who stopped him from joining the Lingayata Veerashaiva agitation are Haramkhor children.

Soon after the video clip surfaced, Khatti called an emergency press meet stating that his statement had been blown out of context.

“Recently few journalists had met me for breakfast. At that time, I was answering few questions. This statement was off the record, a light statement that was intended to be a joke. But it is misused now,” he said.

Meanwhile, suspicions are rife that Katti may switch over to either JDS or Congress prior to 2018 state assembly elections.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has invited Umesh Katti to the Congress party , informed AICC secretary Satish Jarakiholi.
