Bengaluru: BJP leaders performed many rituals at the Palace Ground venue to ensure the success of Prime Minister Modi’s Rally scheduled for February 4 to clear “impediments” if any, after facing setbacks during the inaugural.

The prime minister is set to arrive in the city on February 4 and address a huge gathering of BJP party men and supporters during the valedictory of Parivarthan Rally.

Party insiders say that rituals like “Vaastu Pooje–Havana”, “Gana Homa” and “Bhoomi Pooje” were aimed at removing impediments at the venue. This is in the backdrop of a low turnout witnessed during Amit Shah’s inaugural of Parivarthan Rally at the same venue, where thousands of chairs remained empty and state party leaders immediately drew flak from the BJP national president over the poor response.

The rituals were performed by certain priests in the presence of state BJP leaders including Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, State In-charge Muralidhar Rao, MP Shobha Karandlaje and Legislator Aravind Limbavali. The leaders are of the firm belief that rituals will draw crowds beyond expectations. At the other end, they fear protests called by pro-Kannada organisations on the same day seeking PM’s intervention in Mahadayi issue may impact the scheduled programme.
