Bengaluru: Poor performance of the party in the Lok Sabha and state assembly election may come as a blessing in disguise for the BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa, who was reportedly stopped from carrying out Operation Kamala in the state all these days.
If sources in the BJP are to be believed, BSY now wants party national leadership to allow him to carry out Operation Kamala and bring down the coalition government.
A senior party leader who is privy to the developments informed that following the party’s debacle in the by-election, BSY spoke to the party national leadership in this regard. “BSY informed the national leadership that if alliance government continues, the party may not win more than 10 seats in the state. To repeat the 2014 performance, the party needs to bring down this government,” he said.
“Party national leaders are now helpless. To win the 2019 general election they are looking for at least 20 seats from the state and now they are expected to give green signal to BSY,” he added.
