BJP’s poor show in Jharkhand is BSY’s advantage in Karnataka

Bengaluru: BJP’s poor performance in Jharkhand comes as another big booster for Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, especially after the BJP lost Maharashtra to the Shiv Sena-Congress-NCP alliance.

“Even after the fall of Maharastra’s BJP government, the party’s national general secretary (organization) B L Santosh kept interfering in Karnataka’s administration. This was causing BSY a lot of problems. Now, with the fall of another BJP government, BSY is in a better bargaining position with the party’s national leadership,” explained a senior leader close to BSY.

“He (BSY) is planning to bring in his younger son, B Y Vijayendra, but a few central functionaries were opposed to this. Now, with another defeat, BSY will have a final say on all the issues related to the party’s state unit and the government,” he said.

A lesson for RSS

Another BJP leader said Jharkhand’s result is a lesson for a few RSS leaders of the state, especially a couple of MPs who were neglecting B S Yediyurappa. “BSY is not happy with Tejasvi Surya and another MP, the two blue eyed-boys of B L Santosh. Both of them are creating a lot of embarrassment for him. Now, BSY can take them to task,” he said.
