Bengaluru: Veteran party leader BK Hariprasad will be the Congress party’s seventh candidate for the upcoming MLC polls.
The party high command has finalised the names and sent the B form to them.
It can be recalled that earlier in the day, the Congress had released a list of six candidates for the elections. The shortlisted persons in the first list are Muddahanumegowda, S. Manohar, Saleem Ahmed, H.M. Revanna, M. R. Seetharam, and Naseer Ahmed.
Hariprasad’s name was missing from the first list, but he was selected by the party high command on its own.
It can be noted that the last day to file the nomination papers is Thursday.
The bypolls for seven MLC seats is scheduled to be held on June 29.
