Bengaluru: According to sources, the 13 edition of the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFES) has now been scheduled for February 2022, after being cancelled in 2021 owing to the second wave of Covid – 19.
The annual film festival is held in February and March every year. Officials had prepared a schedule for the screening of 250 films earlier this year. The festival, however, was postponed in March.
Applications for the 2022 edition are now being accepted.
The film festival is set to be held for eight days and will be conducted in the same manner as previous years. Covid protocols, on the other hand, will be in place.
Last year, the Academy had over 200 entries for the competition. Since these films were not able to be screened, the organisers are considering screening them with the application of new submissions.
