Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced that the process of recharging travel cards online has been streamlined after receiving complaints from passengers regarding the delay. Earlier, if a recharge was made online through the Namma Metro mobile app, the BMRC website, Phone-Pe, or Paytm, the amount would reflect on the card after an hour or so.
All metro stations in the City will now have ‘card top-up terminals,’ which will allow online payments to be instantly reflected on the card.
The BMRCL has informed that commuters who recharged their travel cards online may just present it at a card top-up machine, select the ‘Claim online top-up’ option, and the amount will be automatically reflected.
To use the service, passengers must produce their cards at the terminals within 60 days of recharging them online. The service will be available to use in English as well as in Kannada. People can also use the terminal to check the balance on their travel cards.
