B’luru Police arrests man for faking identity, breaking traffic rule 42 times

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police arrested a 58-year-old man who reportedly got away with breaking traffic laws by pretending to be Dr. B.R. Ravikanthe Gowda, the City’s Joint Police Commissioner (Traffic), and posing as an RTI activist.

Girish Babu (58), a resident of Thyagaraja Nagar, has been identified as the suspect.

According to the sources, Police traced the accused and confiscated the vehicle.

The man was fined Rs. 20,200 for violating traffic laws 42 times. The accused also had his vehicle’s registration number plate removed and the word “press” placed on it.
