Bengaluru: After raiding houses in the HAL police limits on Saturday November 13, the East Division police has busted another fake stamp paper scam and arrested five men.
According to the sources, it was after some local residents informed the police about land deals being signed on fake stamp papers, the authorities gathered information regarding the scam.
A special investigation team (SIT) was formed after Ulsoor and HAL officers found some of the civil documents were fake. According to a senior police officer, the SIT collected more documents during the last month, and two police teams conducted raids based on clues, recovering fake stamp papers, duplicate seals, and pen drives.
“It is too early to reveal the identities of the arrested suspects as we believe that more accused are involved in the scam and efforts are on to arrest them in the days ahead,” the officer informed.
