Bengaluru: Bengaluru Rural has achieved 100 per cent second dose vaccine coverage, making it the first district in Karnataka to do so. So far, eleven districts in the State have achieved over 90 per cent second dose coverage.
The district has a population of 8.19 lakh people, and it has administered 8,19,188 second doses by 7.30 pm on Monday January 31. According to sources, on December 23, the Bangalore Urban District reached 100 per cent second dose coverage, although this did not include the BBMP area.
Bangalore Urban had set a target of 10.32 lakh people to be vaccinated, and so far, it has vaccinated 13 lakh people (134 per cent) with the first dose and 11 lakh people (110 per cent) with the second dose. When combined with the BBMP area, however, the second dosage coverage is 86 per cent.
