Bengaluru: A Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus carrying 25 passengers caught fire at South End Circle on Tuesday February 1.
According to sources, all passengers deboarded the bus immediately and no casualties were reported.
Around 1.00 pm, a BMTC bus (Route 215 H) belonging to Depot 44 passed by Nanda Talkies in South End Circle, informed the police. When the driver noticed the fire, he immediately stopped and informed the passengers.
“The fire was extinguished with the help of fire tenders. The incident destroyed the bus. The cause of the incident is being investigated by BMTC officials,” said police.
This is the second time in two weeks that a fire-related incident involving the BMTC bus has happened.
