BOI ATM heist: Police nab van driver Dominic

Bengaluru: The Upparpet police arrested Dominic Selvaraj Roy in the wee hours of Tuesday near KR Puram in Bengaluru.

Police sources said that Dominic was arrested when he was returning to Bengaluru from Coimbatore. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Charan Reddy, the police nabbed Dominic near Tin factory on Old Madras Road and the investigation is on. DCP Reddy also informed that that no cash was found in possession of Dominic as it is believed that the couple settled some of their loans using the money.

The police had earlier arrested Dominic’s wife Evelyn who surrendered to Banaswadi police on Sunday night. The police had recovered cash worth Rs 79.8 lakh from Evelyn. Dominic Selvaraj Roy, an ATM cash van driver, fled with the ATM cash Rs 1.37 crore on November 23.

According to the police, Evelyn surrendered at Banaswadi police station along with her kid. She surrendered before the police with Rs 79.8 lakh on Sunday night.

It may be recalled that on November 23, police recovered a gun and cash Rs 45 lakh from a van that was abandoned near Vasanthnagar area. The incident took place at around 1.30 pm when the van – belonging to Logicash had stopped at the Bank of India branch on KG Road. The police had immediately flashed alert messages across the city and barricades were also put into place on various roads.
