Bengaluru: Both ‘Sindhoor’ and ‘Hijab’ are part of our culture, said Former Chief Minister and Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah on Sunday February 20.
Speaking to mediapersons on the recent incident wherein a student was stopped from entering class for applying vermillion, Siddaramaiah said that no one has problem if students apply ‘Sindhoor’ or wear ‘Hijab,’. These symbols are matter of faith, belief and tradition, he stressed.
Further, Siddaramaiah added that it is a petty move to wear saffron shawls/stoles to oppose hijab.
