Bowring, B’luru, Wenlock, M’luru notified as two hospitals to treat Omicron

Bengaluru: The State Health and Family Welfare Department on Wednesday December 8 officially notified two dedicated hospitals to treat Omicron cases in case of increase in international passengers testing positive for Coronavirus.

A circular in this regard was issued by Health Commissioner D. Randeep. Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in the City and Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru are notified to serve as dedicated Covid – 19 hospitals, which includes Omicron cases if international returnees from ‘at-risk’ countries test positive on arrival at the said city airports.

The Omicron variant is a variant of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid – 19. Omicron was first reported to the World Health Organization (WHO) from South Africa on November 24, 2021.
