Bengaluru: The Hosakote Tahsildar, a second division assistant attached to the Tahsildar’s office and a private individual were arrested by the Bengaluru Rural Lokayukta Police on Tuesday for bribery.
Lokayukta ADGP Prem Shankar Meena, caught Muniyappa, a private party, red handed while he was accepting a bribe of 2.24 lakh as per the instruction of second division assistant Nagaraju K. There after, Tahsildar Kotresh and SDA Nagaraju were arrested, for allegedly demanding the bribe. Kotresh was arrested as he was attempting to flee the office, he said.
In a complaint to the Lokayukta police, H Madhu, a resident of Bagalur, alleged that Kotresh, Sulibele circle revenue inspector Srinivas Shetty, and Nagaraju had demanded bribe of 2.24 lakh for conversion of land, he said.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, he filed a complaint with the Bengaluru Rural Police, leading to their arrests.
