Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and BJP national organising secretary BL Santosh met on Monday evening and discussed about the cabinet expansion.
According to the sources, both the leaders discussed about inducting three senior BJP leaders into the cabinet along with 12 MLAs who quit Congress and JDS, which allowed the formation of the BJP government in the state.
Santosh informed Yediyurappa that keeping in mind the interests of the party organisation in the state, there is the need of inducting loyal BJP leaders too.
Meanwhile, 15 candidates who were elected in the recently concluded by-election will take oath as the MLAs on December 22.
The date was fixed by an astrologer close to Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, it is said.
Assembly Speaker Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri will administer the oath to these MLAs.
In the by election held for 15 assembly constituencies, the Congress won just two seats while JDS drew a blank. BJP emerged victorious in 12 constituencies. In Hosakote, independent candidate Sharath Bachchegowda, son of BJP MP Chikkaballapura won.
According to the sources, even though this is not an auspicious month due to the dhanur masa in Hindu calendar, three MLAs want early oath-taking and minister post as assured by CM BS Yediyurappa.
