Bengaluru: The countdown to the State Cabinet reshuffle has begun. BJP national leadership has asked Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to visit New Delhi on Tuesday May 10 to finalise the Cabinet.
According to sources, the party is likely to drop several ministers including Kota Srinivas Poojary from the Cabinet and replace them with young leaders.
“It will not a mere expansion. Around five senior ministers are likely to be dropped while young Turks including Kudachi MLA P. Rajeev, and others are likely to be inducted into the Cabinet,” said a senior BJP leader.
Meanwhile, BJP national leadership is also against inducting the tainted leaders from Congress and JD (S) ahead of the next Assembly election. According to sources, party national leaders opposed the induction of Varthur Prakash, a former minister into the party fold citing his past records.
