Charge-sheet filed in SI Jagadish murder case

Bengaluru: Nelamangala police on Thursday filed a charge-sheet with judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) court, Nelamangala in connection to SI Jagadish murder case that took place on October 16, 2015.

The 400-page charge-sheet has statement of 52 persons including five forensic science laboratory officials, 12 policemen, 16 government officials and seven eyewitnesses including residents who saw the killing.

Harish Babu 51, and Madhu Krishna, 24, were arrested at Nagpur railway station on October 19, 2015 and in their confession statement, accused duo said they attacked Jagadish in a fit of rage.

Jagadish, who was looking for the duo in house theft case, was hacked to death by the two after a hot pursuit when the habitual offenders had come to Nelamangala to register a new motor bike.

It is said that Jagadish fell into a drain while chasing the duo, who were 20 feet ahead of him. When the SI fell helpless, the two returned and snatched his pistol away and then stabbed him repeatedly. As per an investigating officer, the probe has been completed in two months and nine days. The accused duo had plans to flee to Delhi and then to Nepal.

Harish Babu and Madhu Krishna are mainly charged with IPC 307 (Attempt to murder) and 302 (murder) besides other sections.
