Chikkaballapura: CPI (M) workers staged a protest in front of the Taluk Office and submitted a memorandum to Grade-II Tahasildar Subramani, demanding that the MLAs should take moral responsibility and answer on the corruption in the wake of the proposed names of the MLAs and their names by the suspended officials in the bribery case of PDOs in the Constituency.

JCB Manjunatha Reddy, State Vice-President of Prantha Raitha Sangha, said that Bagepalli MLA S. N. Subta Reddy, who speaks on platforms to stop corruption, is facing allegations of corruption in the PDO bribery case.

In 2018, the Lokayukta police conducted an investigation based on a complaint lodged by the MLA regarding irregularities in various Government works worth Rs. 13 Crore. However, even after four years, the investigation report has not been made public, and the MLAs raised the issue of irregularities worth crores of rupees in the Horticulture Department in Bagepalli at the Disha meeting of Chikkaballapura Zilla Panchayat with documents and said that they would not attend the next meeting if justice was not done.

He said “You have prevented the report from being made public by saying that you will investigate the cheating case that took place two years ago at the Ragi Khari Kendra and take legal action against the guilty. In the wake of the bribery case, the officials demanded a proper probe against the people’s representatives.
