Chikkaballapura: Theft case, three accused arrested

Chikkaballapura: The District Police has arrested three of the four robbers who barged into the house of ASI Narayanaswamy at Bagepalli in Chikkaballapur District and opened fire on ASI Narayanaswamy and his son.

The arrested have been identified as Arif alias Mohammad Arif Ansari (35) of Bahiram Nagar in Bijnor District of Uttar Pradesh, Jamshed Khan alias Chhotu (27) of Chintaman Khata Village in Milak Taluk of Rampur District of Uttar Pradesh, and Pathan Mohammad Haris Khan (30), a resident of Nizam Ali Colony in Kadiri Town of Sathya Sai District of Andhra Pradesh.

Based on a complaint lodged by Suguna, wife of ASI Narayanaswamy, a resident of Peresandra Village in Chikkaballapura Taluk at Peresandra Police Station, five investigation teams under the guidance of District Superintendent of Police D. L. Nagesh were formed to nab the accused.

A total of 03 tapanchas (country-made pistol), a pistol containing empty magazine, 46 live bullets were recovered from them. Cash, a car used in the crime, a gold mangalasutra weighing 71.702 grams, and 21 puja items of silver were seized. The accused Arif worked at a bakery, Jamshed Khan worked as a carpenter and Pathan Mohammad worked in a mobile shop, police said.
