Chikkaballapura: Mild earthquakes with magnitudes of 2.6 and 2.4 on the Richter scale jolted the district on Monday May 23.
Tremors were felt 9 kilometres from Chikkaballapura and 13 kilometres from taluk headquarters of Chintamani at 2.39 pm. Official reports say they were detected at a depth of 10 kilometres.
However, Tahsildar Munishami Reddy informed that there is no information at the local level.
