Chikkaballapura: Following the uproar over Tourism Minister Anand Singh’s recent meeting with Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D. K. Shivakumar, he said on Wednesday February 2 that the meeting was just a “courtesy call” and that no politics were discussed.

Speaking to mediapersons here Singh said, “It was a casual meeting. It has nothing to do with politics.” In response to speculation about his defection, Anand Singh stated that Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa had acted on his assurance of carving out the Vijayanagara District and allocating sufficient funds for development projects. “I have no intention of joining any political party,” he said.

He also claimed that due to the pandemic, development efforts at tourist destinations had slowed. He has mentioned that more attention will be given to the popular tourist destination Nandi Hills, particularly in terms of creating more facilities. He noted that various development projects are currently underway in Hampi, Halebeedu, Belur, Badami, and other places.

Regarding the proposed ropeway project and its influence on the surrounding environment, the Minister stated that all aspects of the project will be considered.
