Chitradurga: A video clip of a barber from Yaadalagatte denying hair to Dalits in the taluk has gone viral on social media platforms recently. Following this, Tahasildar N. Raghumurthy stepped in and convinced the barber to cut Dalits’ hair.
According to sources, Srinivas, a native of Kyatgondanahalli, used to visit Yaadalagatte village twice a week as there were no barbers in the neighbouring village. However, he refused to cut the hair of Dalits recently, claiming that he is worshipping Narasimha Swamy.
Following this, the villagers raised objections and told him not to visit their village. As the video of the incident went viral, Tahasildar visited the village to solve the issue. He convinced Srinivas to serve Dalits and promised him help in opening a saloon.
