Chitradurga: ‘Special welfare scheme for women in next budget’

Chitradurga: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday December 18 announced a number of programmes at the Veera Vanithe Onake Obavva birth anniversary celebration. He said that his government will introduce a special welfare scheme for women and launch a development corporation with the name Onake Obavva in the next budget in 2023.

He also vowed that the Chalavadi community a women’s college will be established in Chitradurga bearing Onake Obavva’s name.

Bommai further mentioned that the 80 acres of land will be given to the Onake Obavva Trust for the construction of a research and study centre and that a chair for research on Onake Obavva’s life will be established.
