Chitradurga: Ganahoma and Uyyale Utsava programmes were held on Wednesday December 7 to mark the dedication of the Golden Mukha Padma to Sri Ekanatheshwari Devi situated in the historic seven-round fort of City.

As per the tradition of the royal family, the Uyyale festival was held for Goddess Ekanatheshwari in the premises of Sri Ekanatheshwari Temple at Meludurga within the fort in the presence of a large number of devotees after decades.

The utsava idol of the Goddess, beautifully decorated with various fragrant flowers, was brought to the Uyyale pillar with mangalavadya and devotee’s chants of Udho Udho. It was installed in a decorated uyyale. On this occasion, various folk art forms, including the sound of nadaswaram, bear chammala, and urume along with the sound of the trumpet, etc. came to the fore.
