Bengaluru: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials have arrested the main accused in the Karnataka Police Sub-Inspectors (PSI) scam.
According to sources, Rudragowda D. Patil was detained from Maharashtra. He was brought to the CID’s office in Kalaburagi on the late night of Saturday April 23.
His brother Aflzapur Block Congress President Mahantesh Patil was arrested by CID on Saturday.
The case involves irregularities in the State’s appointment of Police Sub-Inspectors.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Saturday that everything relating to the PSI recruitment scam will be thoroughly probed, and that those found guilty will face consequences.
He also said on Thursday that, “Arrangements were made on the lines of the UPSC recruitment test. Despite the tight security and transparent system, irregularities had been done. We want to put an end to this.”
The Chief Minister further said that he has directed the CID to conduct a quick and transparent investigation.
