Bengaluru: Over 10,000 police officials, including 25 platoons of KSRP, CAR and Home Guards will be deployed in the city. More police officials will be deployed in sensitive and hyper-sensitive areas, said City Police Commissioner N S Megharikh at a press meet here on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters, City Police Commissioner appealed to the public to celebrate the Ganesha festival peacefully and to abide by the rules and regulations issued by Bengaluru city police.

“Organisers will have to get a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the BBMP, the police station concerned and the Fire Department to install Ganesha idol at public places. Organisers should not put up pandals on the road that cause inconvenience to motorists. To put up a pandal, the organisers have to seek permission from the jurisdictional police station,” he said.

“Every pandal should have the details of the organisers such as their name, address and contact numbers. The organisers have to make arrangements to guard the idols and pandals round-the-clock. Loud speakers should not be used after 10 pm,” he said.
